6:30 AM: Rise and Shine
My day begins early. As a neuroscientist, I’ve learned that mornings are precious. I start with a strong cup of coffee while reviewing the day’s agenda. On my to-do list, today are several important tasks: experiments to conduct, data to analyze, and a seminar to prep for.
7:30 AM: Lab Meeting
By 7:30 AM, I’m in the lab, gathered with my research team. We hold a quick morning meeting to discuss ongoing projects, share any breakthroughs, and troubleshoot experiments that aren't yielding the desired results. Collaboration is key in our field, and I love hearing different perspectives on our challenges.
9:00 AM: Experimentation
After the meeting, it's time for some hands-on work. Today, I’m conducting an experiment involving optogenetics—a technique that allows us to control the activity of neurons using light.
